How can we effectively control the volume of the voice chip?

Generally, there are two feasible ways.

 

       1. Hardware volume control
       There are generally two audio output modes for voice chips, namely pwm output and dac output. Its volume control is generally divided into 8 levels and 16 levels. The volume control of the two audio outputs is to control the output volume by adjusting the current. If you want to control the current intensity output to the speaker, you can control the pwm current. The amplitude of the speaker is the volume perceived by people. Similarly, da audio output is also in the form of controlling current.


       2. Software volume control
       Software volume control usually adjusts the value directly. The value sent to the audio synthesizer is the volume, because the software volume adjustment cannot directly control the current on pwm and da. The volume can be controlled by adjusting the value sent to the audio synthesizer. The general requirement is 16 levels of volume control, but if the CPU's computing power is limited, 2 to 4 levels of volume control are also required.
